A regular feature in our inventory the second generation Pajero is probably the best value for money when it comes to owning a Japanese SUV. Famous for it’s 12 Dakar Rally victories this is an SUV that can be used as an offroader, daily driver or even just an economical commuter for long haul trips. With seating for 5 passengers and ample power feature’s we are even seeing many of these Pajero’s being used a primary work vehicles here in the United States.

Featuring OEM rainguards, selectable 4wd with multi option transfer case (2wd high range and 4wd, high and low range) , power windows, power locks, power sunroof,  front and rear climate control,  full sized rear mounted spare tire, brush guard and fog lights.

The 4m40 diesel engine needs no introduction, but in case you’ve never heard of it the term indestructible has been used frequently to describe it. These go anywhere and go forever engines have been happily serving their owners with trouble free ownership since their introduction. This particular example is a 5 seater with a huge cargo are for storage. The side hinged rear door swings outward and provides a huge loading area. The Pajero produces ample low end torque making these a fantastic rig for towing. The selectable 4wd allows you to switch between 2wd and 4wd to maximize fuel economy, the second generation of The Mitsubishi Pajero also saw the introduction of  Super Select 4WD (SS4), Multi-Mode ABS and electronic shock absorbers which were firsts on Japanese four wheel drives. SS4 was ground breaking in the sense that it combined the advantages of part-time and full-time four-wheel drive with four available options: 2H (high-range RWD), 4H (high-range full-time 4WD), 4HLc (high range 4WD with locked center differential) and 4LLc (low-range 4WD with locked center differential). Another advantage of this second generation system is that it gave the driver the ability to switch between two-wheel drive and full-time four-wheel drive at speeds up to 80 km/h.

The unique two tone color combination of F76 (Alamoana Green Metallic) A71 (Hamilton Silver Metallic) is actually a factory option. Mitsubishi tend to be a little more creative with colors for luxury SUVs compared to Toyota and this stunning combination really looks well suited to the body lines of the Pajero. The paint is in overall fantastic condition with the exception of a few minor dings and light scratches and the chrome part of the front bumper has a dent but of course this is to be expected considering it’s age. The oem cloth interior is extremely well maintained as you would expect from such a low mileage example. The beastly 2.8l 4M40 turbo diesel motor fires to life with the simple twist of a key and settles into a strong consistent idle. Mated to a 4 speed automatic transmission that shifts comfortable through all the gears this a one seriously well appointed SUV and at just $12,950 offers so much value to the next owner.
